Gilmore Girls: Celebrate with Luke’s Diner and a new featurette

Oct 6, 2016

Netflix’s social media campaign for the forthcoming Gilmore Girls revival is extremely savvy. Some fans waiting in the very long line greeted him in song.

“I have watched the show start to finish about three times …”

Two Madison coffee shops will offer free coffee and get a brief makeover Wednesday, a store representative said.

By 8:30 a.m., Three Fifty had given away nearly 250 free cups of coffee, which was “way more” than owner Jimmy Hopper said he expected. “I am standing in line for a black cup of coffee, but it’s from Luke’s, so whatever!” Nearly everyone is shown including Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki and This Is Us star Milo Ventimiglia. They swarms of fans who waited outside before the cafes even opened to get a free cup of coffee bearing a Luke’s-branded sleeve. Baristas got into character by wearing Luke’s signature apron and backwards baseball cap, while server Sonia Parga embodied the character of St. James by wearing a white chef’s coat, pigtails and headscarf.

“There are so many things that are my favorite about doing this show”, Graham, 49, says.

Netflix is bringing back the comedy-drama on November 25 as a four-episode miniseries titled “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life“. And it’s about Luke’s Diner, where Rory and Lorelai took many of their meals and consumed much of their java, and where Lorelai and Luke fell in love.

Between Scott Patterson helping out and all the fans who participated, it’s a wonderful reminder of just how much better the world is with Gilmore Girls in it.

Payne said he was not sure exactly how The Golden Roast was selected but said Netflix found their website and wanted The Golden Roast to be a pop-up location.
