Middleton’s 33 help Bucks top Pacers

Jan 2, 2016

Bucks-Pacers: Khris Middleton had a great game last night against the Pacers, and he needed every bit of it. He logged 33 points in helping his team to a 120-116 win in Indianapolis. “We had a quick turnaround after playing an overtime game Wednesday night in Chicago, but that is just part of the game”.

The Bucks swept last season’s two-game series, holding the Timberwolves to an average of 85.0 points, but Minnesota won all four the previous two seasons. “We were out of sync offensively all night until the very end when we tried a couple of different lineups just to change the game”.

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Ricky Rubio (9) dribbles in the fourth quarter against the Milwaukee Bucks at Target Center. “I’m proud of the guys for fighting and staying in it, but we’ve got to play the first three quarters”.

IN trailed 111-95 after Michael Carter-Williams connected on a jumper for Milwaukee with 4:41 left.

But Milwaukee bounced right back, outscoring IN 28-14 to close out the third quarter. The Pistons shot 47.7 percent, made 14 of 35 attempts from 3-point range, finished with 44 points in the paint and won the rebounding battle 52-36 one day after one of Minnesota’s best defensive efforts in a 94-80 win over Utah.

IN got 12 points from Allen and 10 from Miles in the opening half but shot only 46.3 percent from the field (19 of 41) and turned the ball over 13 times, including five by guard Monta Ellis. Perhaps the most encouraging aspect of George’s play against the Bucks was his ability to get to the free throw line, where he knocked down 10-of-11 foul shots.

The Bucks center was 7 of 8 in the half and led Milwaukee with 17 points.

Please Note: Inside Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Pacers radio broadcasts can be heard on 1080 AM instead of 1070. Before playing the Bucks on Thursday, the Pacers were 13-5 against Eastern Conference teams, including 9-0 at home…. The Thunder have won three straight games and 12 of their last 14 outings.
