The suspension prevents Beckham from practicing with the team or playing in the game in Minnesota on Sunday.

He attempted an appeal on Wednesday, but it was rejected.

The Vikings (9-5) are chasing the Packers (10-4) for the NFC North Division crown with two games remaining – Sunday against the New York Giants at TCF Bank Stadium and January 3 at Green Bay.

New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. lost his appeal of a one-game suspension stemming from on-field conduct during his most recent game.

Beckham is not allowed to attend practices or have any contact with the Giants, apart from arrangements for off-site medical procedures or physical therapy, until his reinstatement on Monday.

“After the game, putting all the pieces together I think it may have had an impact in the way Odell was acting”, Wing said. This is about my behavior, and I am responsible for my behavior.

“I owe some people an apology”. Norman was fined $26,044 for hits to the head and neck area on Sunday.

According to Merton Hanks, vice president of football operations for the NFL, Beckham deserved the suspension because his actions put his opponent at an unnecessary risk of getting injured, plus the fact that he could have done something to avoid it. Norman retaliated, and both received personal-foul calls.

Giants punter Brad Wing saw the interaction between teammate Odell Beckham Jr. and bat-wielding Panthers safety Marcus Ball before the two teams faced each other Sunday.

Upon the announcement of the appeal decision, Beckham issued an apology on Twitter for his actions on Sunday. Sportsmanship and respecting the game are as important as blocking, running routes and catching the football.

A Panthers player with a baseball bat on his shoulder was spotted antagonizing Beckham, and several Giants claimed some Panthers hurled gay slurs at the wide receiver during warmups. Beckham, the 2014 Offensive Rookie of the Year, has 91 catches for 1,396 yards and 13 touchdowns, tied for the league lead.

“I hope the league office gets a chance to review the film and see what they can do, because players like that don’t deserve to be in the game, ” Norman said after the game. Panthers coach Ron Rivera stated the team has used the baseball bat as a prop all season. That is a responsibility I accept and take seriously.

“That guy was like, ‘I’ll be the reason you don’t play today and other days, ‘” Wing recalled.

“It obviously would have been cool to make it, but I’m not going to cry over it”, he said. “It’s not fair, it’s not justice, it’s not the way it was”.

“If you think (Beckham is) the only individual wrong in this situation, you’re naïve”, Coughlin added.
