Here in Tennessee players have won more than $1.8 billion in Powerball prizes since 2004, but there’s always a chance there will be no victor.

Many people buying Powerball tickets tried to improve their odds with six or seven tickets, others opted for just one.

The second-biggest Powerball drawing in US history has reached $700 million, and that number could rise as more people buy tickets.

The chances are one in 292 million – but that doesn’t stop people from taking two dollars or more out of their pocket to change their life- forever.

This is the fourth time a Powerball jackpot winning ticket has been sold in the Bay State.

“I bought a ticket because I want to win!” said Norma Branson from the Murphy Canyon Market in San Diego.

By the time the Powerball winning numbers were picked on Wednesday night, the jackpot is likely even higher given the rush of ticket sales.

Powerball tickets are sold in 44 U.S. states and Washington, D.C., as well as in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. “The estimated jackpot will be reset to $40 million”.

Wednesday’s Powerball numbers have been drawn, which means there could be a newly minted millionaire out there worth $758 million.

The lucky numbers will be drawn at 8 p.m.

In Florida, three tickets matched five numbers, but not the Powerball number, to win a million dollars each.

Since the last Powerball victor announced on June 10, there has been no victor for the last 20 drawings.

“You know, I think I would open up a great big farm for dogs that are homeless”, she said.

The odds of winning?

The current jackpot refers to the annuity option, doled out in 30 payments over 29 years, increasing 5 percent annually.
